My name is Kory Caissie, and I am a first-year student at Plymouth State University. I am 18 years old, have a mom and dad and 3 other siblings. I enjoy working out, playing baseball, and hanging out with friends in my spare time. I am majoring in Communications and Media Studies because I am interested in the entire aspect of how us as humans are able to get our point across to others whether its verbal or non-verbal. I am from Nashua, NH which is about an hour away from Plymouth. I’ve lived there for most of my life and when I go back, I call it my real home.
Online Disinhibition is a very interesting subject to me. I find the way we interact online to be very different from face-to-face communication. The aspect of comfortability or invisibility is very interesting. Feeling more like “yourself” online rather than face to face interactions is very accurate I think, rather than seeing reactions you don’t have to worry about that when being online and being able to say whatever you feel. Another topic of Online Disinhibition that I really just overall enjoy is Asynchronicity. The aspect of not responding right away but rather whenever you feel it is very powerful. You can really play with one’s emotions based off of just a response in text or call and it really shows you how one can be affected.
